We're here to support our families in giving their little ones the best start in life! From birth to age 5, we provide fun, hands-on resources, guidance, and support to help children grow, learn, and thrive. We are a free center located in the Personal Development Center in Dresden and open to all families in Weakley County.

Our Mission & Vision

We believe that learning starts at birth, and we’re here to help parents feel confident in supporting their child’s development.

Our goal is to:
✔️ Connect families with helpful resources and support services early in a child’s life
✔️ Ensure every family in the district has access to learning tools, training, and opportunities
✔️ Highlight the importance of early childhood education in building a strong foundation for future success
✔️ Empower parents with the knowledge and skills to support learning at home

Our Services

Parent Education: We offer one-on-one guidance and Parent Cafes to help you in supporting your little one in their development. Chances are, you're already doing several things!

Educational Resources: We've got fun kits and activities that you can use to make learning fun through playing with your kids! Our learning kits are easy to use and offer hands on opportunities to develop your little ones skills. We are proud to offer books, puppets, activities, story time, and other opportunities to develop their skills through play.

Transition to Kindergarten Support: We’ll help make the big leap to kindergarten smooth and stress-free with resources and personalized guidance.

Social & Emotional Learning: We'll help guide you through the big emotions your little one is experiencing, and how to work with them to help them understand them. We use the Pyramid Model of Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children as a guide to nurture this growth.

Early Childhood Professional Development: We train and support our WCS teachers and staff in practices and techniques that create the best learning environments for our little learners.

WCS Food Pantry: We work closely with the WCS Food Pantry to help connect families and kids to the Food Pantry services, so that our little learners can grow!
