Tennessee Coordinated School Health connects physical, emotional and social health with education through eight inter-related components. This coordinated approach improves students' health and their capacity to learn through the support of families, communities and schools working together. Coordinated School Health works with many partners to address school health priorities.

When Should I Stay Home?

Weakley County Schools Quick Reference Guide

  1. Fever. Temperature of 100.4 F or higher

  2. Vomiting. Within the past 24 hours

  3. Diarrhea. Within the past 24 hours

  4. Lice. Per each school's policy

  5. Eye Infection. Redness, itching, and/ or drainage from eye

  6. Rash. Rash with oozing, drainage, and/or fever emergency room visit

  7. Hospital Stay. Hospital stay and/or

I am ready to go back to school when I am...

  1. Fever free without the assistance of medication for 24 hours (i.e., Tylenol, Motrin, Advil, etc.)

  2. Free from vomiting

    for 24 hours.

  3. Free from diarrhea for 24 hours.

  4. Treated with appropriate lice treatment at home.

  5. Free from drainage and/or have been evaluated by my doctor if needed.

  6. Free from rash or fever and have been evaluated by my doctor if needed.

  7. Released by my medical provider to return to school.

It's okay to return to school if you have a runny nose and/or a small cough.

If a student has strep throat or another bacterial infection, the student should stay home until an antibiotic has been given for at least 24 hours and the health care provider has given permission to return to school. We encourage you to seek medical attention when sick and to follow your health care provider's recommendations about returning to school and other activities.

How It Works

First, call us. Let us know how many people are in your household. Names of recipients will be kept confidential. Next, there are 4 easy ways to get food from the pantry:

  1. Pick up from the pantry location.

  2. Pick up in the car line at the school.

  3. Pick up directly from the school based on need.

  4. Sent home with child(ren) on the school bus.
    Only lightweight items will be sent with a child.

Foods We Supply

A food bag may contain pasta, sauce, rice, oats, cereal bars, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned chicken or fish, etc.
