Mission Statement

Our Mission:

The mission of Weakley County Schools is to grow the whole child through quality instruction in a safe environment that encourages student ownership of learning and the pursuit of purpose.

Our Vision:

Weakley County Schools will be a regional model of traditional public schools where students find their purpose, build connections, and grow into graduates who take ownership, communicate effectively, show respect, think critically, and are resilient.

Our Core Values:

Students, faculty, staff, and administrators utilize our core values as a daily compass to guide and reframe our attitudes, actions, and decision. The core values of our school district are PURPOSE, CONNECTION, and GROWTH.

Our Attributes:

Our graduates, students, faculty, staff, and administrators will:

  • Take Ownership: Through engagement, goal-setting, and time management, students embrace responsibility in learning.

  • Communicate Effectively: Students strengthen communication by expressing ideas clearly, listening, and collaborating with peers.

  • Show Respect: Students show respect by listening, valuing diverse perspectives, and treating all people with consideration.

  • Think Critically: Students build critical thinking skills by analyzing data, solving problems, and questioning assumptions.

  • Be Resilient: Students learn resilience through overcoming challenges, adapting to setbacks, and persisting in learning.

What We Believe:

We believe that...

  • ... all children can learn, should begin school ready to learn, and continue to learn throughout their lives.

  • ... all children benefit when the focus of the learning process is on student achievement with high expectations and parents, educators, and members of the community collaborate in the learning process.

  • ... all children deserve highly qualified administrators, teachers, and support staff that use research-based practices and strategies that provide clear direction; and all children benefit when curriculum and instruction are properly aligned, research-based, and data-driven and technology is used to enhance the learning process.

  • ... all children deserve a safe, positive, and physically comfortable school environment to promote learning and all children gain when mutual respect and integrity are displayed among students and members of the educational community as they engage in adequate and appropriate internal and external communication.
