The revolution takes place this weekend, as the Weakley Playhouse theatre troupe brings the Lauren Gunderson play The Revolutionists to the stage.

The play involves four very real women who lived boldly in France during the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror. According to the playwright, the grand and dream-tweaked comedy is about violence and legacy, art and activism, feminism and terrorism, compatriots and chosen sisters, and how we actually go about changing the world.

Showtimes for The Revolutionists are December 8th at 8PM, December 9th at 2PM and 7PM, and December 10th at 2PM in the theater at Westview High School. General admission tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased online in advance at weakleyplays.ludus.com.  The show is rated PG-13 for adult themes, mild profanity, and implied violence.
