Governor Bill Lee released a statement this morning urging every school district in Tennessee to “close as soon as possible.” The statement came while Weakley County Schools district and school administrators were in a meeting discussing COVID-19, and director Randy Frazier immediately announced schools will be closed beginning tomorrow and will remain closed until at least April 1.

Martin Elementary School fifth-graders brought home awards from the annual state Beta Club Convention held recently in Nashville. MES Beta Club advisors Cindy Watkins and Tina Brown took 30 students and 27 parents to the Beta Club Convention. The group competed in 27 competitions and earned awards in 10 of the categories.
